In Upstate New York, I had the pleasure of collaborating with a client seeking a design solution for her long and narrow space. To optimize the layout and create a functional yet stylish living area, I recommended two smaller sofas facing each other, paired with sofa tables that could double as desks for her boys to work on homework comfortably seated on small ottomans. To maximize seating options and maintain a seamless flow, I included two small swivel chairs perpendicular to the sofas. This arrangement provided ample space to pass through to the exterior doors. Under the windows, I added two benches complemented by a side table and lamp, offering additional seating and filling the space perfectly. Guided by the client's design aesthetic, we embraced a simple classic modern style, characterized by neutral tones and high contrast. The result was a space that exuded elegance and timelessness, with a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary elements.
